What is Oriental Medicine?

Acupuncture and Oriental medicine has been practiced and cultivated within the Chinese culture for as long as it has existed. What was once shamanic ritual practiced within varying local tribes thousands of years ago has transformed into a internationally recognized medical practice undergoing vigorous testing against some of today’s most troubling maladies. Oriental medicine is a compilation of many different practices to restore balance and achieve health through regulating an individuals vital energy (qi):

  1. Meditation/ Self cultivation
  2. Physical Movement (Qi Gong / Tai Chi)
  3. Nutrition
  4. Body work (Tui na and other manual therapies)
  5. Astrology
  6. Feng Shui
  7. Herbology
  8. Acupuncture

Acupuncture

Accupuncture

Acupuncture utilizes single use stainless steel needles inserted into acupuncture points to restore balance to the body. Acupuncture points can be in trigger points, or in neuro-muscular junctions to treat pain.

Cupping

Manual Therapies

The manual techniques used in a session incorporate Jones counter-strain technique, active release therapy, cupping, graston (gua sha), myo facial release, percussion, and craniosacral in order to best serve the patient.

Herbals

Chinese herbalism offers a unique perspective into medicinals. Single herbs and formulas are prescribed based on thermodynamics, yin yang balancing, and regulation of qi flow. The companies we use lead the industry in terms of testing and quality control to rule out environmental toxicities, and to make sure that they provide the most potent medicine possible.
